What is Alpha
Alpha is a course for anyone who is interested in the Christian faith, and for anyone who enjoys honest and good conversations. The course will be given in 10 Saturdays, from 11.00-14.00 (offline) and 12:00- 13:30 (online) on 12th February 2022. We strictly follow the covid-19 measures. The offline sessions will start with a brunch. We are watching the most recent videos from Nicky Gumbel, founder of Alpha, with English subtitles. You will receive a copy of the study guide for free.
Do you know international students who would like to participate in the course? Feel free to forward the poster to them :)
Take on the adventure and have a wonderful journey of discovery!
What to Expect
First there is
Food has a way of bringing people together. It’s no different at Alpha. We start with food, because it’s a great way to encourage community and get to know each other. Each week a team member will provide food for the participants, so don't worry about bringing your own!
The talks are designed to engage and inspire conversation. Generally thirty minutes long, they can be given as a live talk or played as a video. They explore the big issues around faith and unpack the basics of Christianity, addressing questions such as Who is Jesus? and How can we have faith?
Probably the most important part of any Alpha: the chance to share thoughts and ideas on the topic, and simply discuss it in a small group. There’s no obligation to say anything. And there’s nothing you can’t say. It’s an opportunity to hear from others and contribute your own perspective in an honest, friendly and open environment.
Alpha was a wonderful experience, it paved the way for meeting new people from all over and for conversations that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.
